Everything from rodeo’in to Free Byrd!

Bull-riding camp
Nice story about a camp some ‘cowboys’ are offering, that includes bull-riding and devotionals

Blake Griffin
Discovered this pre-draft piece by Berry Tramel who suggested that Tommy Griffin (Blake’s dad) go all Archie Manning on the Clippers and say my son isn’t going to play for you. It’s solid advice that going by the draft (Clippers taking Blake first) no one took.  The more I read of this okie Tramel, the more he becomes one of my favorite writers. He wrote the story about a young high school graduate who killed someone drinking and driving and managed to turn his life around, with a little help from the victim’s husband.

Siran Stacy
A set of nice stories about how former University of Alabama running back Siran Stacy is handling the grief from losing his family more than a year ago and how he’s looking at setting up a website to communicate with fans and others who are dealing with grief. Now, when looking at wearing the hat of former Alabama star, banker or preacher, Stacy is more likely to call himself preacher.

Free Byrd
I’m disappointed! Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal reports that: “Free-agent right-hander Paul Byrd says he has yet to hear from any club.” I’m not sure if Byrd would be an adequate pitcher for a major  league team (however, as a Cardinals fan, I’ve had my fingers crossed a few times), but I loved his book. Be forewarned, his book is one of the best Christian sports books I’ve read – period.  However, the best part about the site is the opening video. Enjoy it is, it’s well done (better than mine as far as graphics and such goes). The site hasn’t been touched lately.
