Here’s what USA Today said about two of the quarterback that may go in the NFL Draft next weekend. John Parker Wilson of Alabama and Stephen McGee of Texas A & M are both projected to go on Day 2 (translation: not very high in the draft).
These are excerpts from their evaluation. You can see the entire breakdown here. The Aggie McGee is projected to go the highest as the sixth best QB. “A three-year starter, McGee passed for 5,475 yards and 28 touchdowns and ran for 1,750 yards and 11 scores while winning 18 of his 30 starts. Despite missing most of the 2008 season, he was the most decorated player on the team, winning the Aggie Heart Award for, among other things, leadership and courage, and the Bowden Award from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which he likened to “winning the Heisman Award for Jesus Christ,” according to TheDallas Morning News.” Here’s his highlight reel.
Wilson may go a bit later in the draft: “Wilson can control a good short-area passing game with his excellent reads and quick release, but he lacks the arm strength to gain respect down the field in the NFL.”
