Wisdom from the Angels, Kenny Perry and soccer

Wisdom from the Angels

Here’s the best advice to come from the tragedy around Los Angeles Angels rookie pitcher Nick Adenhart, who was killed with two others by a drunk driver hours after pitching earlier that night.

“I hate that this happened, but this is part of life. This is the real deal,” outfielder Torii Hunter said. “That’s why you’ve got to kiss your kids, kiss your family every day when you get up in the morning and before you leave for work.”

Kenny Perry

Perry had a rough last few holes on the Master’s, which cost him a place in history. Here’s the story from Tampa Bay Online from Saturday night (before the final round), and this is the end-of-tournament story by one of the finest golf writers out there, John Feinstein, who talks about Perry’s class in losing. Now on to the good stuff about Perry.  Here’s a story that tells a lot a bout his faith and another  story that describes his generosity via Lipscomb University. Either way, Perry did it with style and class that reflects his faith.

Over the pond

Here’s a story about a British soccer player, or footballer, as they say, who is quick to tell you Christ has quite the impact on his life.
